Course Description
Leaders in K-3 Literacy will equip educators and instructional leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to strengthen foundational reading skills in early learners. Through six focused modules covering Concepts of Print, Phonological and Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Sight Words, Fluency, and Comprehension, participants will explore key literacy components, learn essential vocabulary, recognize observable indicators of student progress, and apply data-informed decision-making. Each module includes opportunities for teacher support, conversation starters, and access to additional resources, ensuring leaders can guide effective literacy instruction and foster strong reading foundations for all K-3 students.

Policies
This non-credit course is offered online using the Canvas LMS, over a 8-week period. It is asynchronous, but not self-paced. You will have a total of 56 days to complete the course. The 56 days to complete begins on the day of enrollment and under no circumstances will extensions be given. You will be assessed throughout the course to demonstrate proficiency on the subject matter. You must pass all assessments before receiving the course badge.
